Questions
What is patchmap?
Lighting and video paperwork for live events: the worksheet, power, cables, paperwork and labels for a rig, with a Vectorworks sync, a grandMA3 link and crew mode on phones. It runs in a browser at app.patchmap.show.
Is it free right now?
The app is open to try, with the sample show or your own files. There is no checkout yet. The launch plans are on the pricing page; leave your address on the notify page to hear when they go on sale.
Do I need to install anything?
No. patchmap runs today in a current browser on a Mac, a Windows PC, a tablet or a phone.
Is there a desktop app?
Coming soon, for Mac and Windows, with offline work and the grandMA3 console bridge built in. iPhone and iPad apps are planned. Until then everything runs in your browser. Leave your address on the notify page and tick the desktop box to hear when it's ready.
Where are my show files?
On your computer. Opening a file reads it in the browser; nothing is uploaded unless you sign in and save the show to the cloud.
Which browsers?
Any current Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. For the Vectorworks sync, Chrome and Edge read and write the exchange file in place; in other browsers the reply is downloaded.
Which consoles?
grandMA3, console or onPC, software 2.x. The Files route (MVR and macros) works from any browser. The live link runs through a small console bridge on your computer and the patchmap Link plugin on the console.
Can I bring my current paperwork?
Yes. Export the worksheet from your current paperwork app as tab or comma delimited text, or open the Vectorworks exchange file or an MVR. Columns patchmap doesn't know become columns of your own.
Does it do video?
Yes: LED walls with pixel maps, processor ports and data and power chains, projectors with a throw calculator, video devices and signal routes, on the same distros as the lighting.
Can my crew use it on their phones?
Yes. On a phone patchmap opens in crew mode: the focus call by position, quick notes and a lookup by channel, address or unit.
Can several people work on one show?
Yes, with Uplink accounts: save the show to the cloud, share it, and open it live. Edits arrive in order, and changes made offline are sent when you reconnect.
How does it relate to netmap?
They are siblings in the Uplink suite. patchmap plans the lighting and video; netmap plans the show network. The netmap screen in patchmap maps universes to netmap nodes. One Uplink account covers both.
How do I get help?

Open the sample show.
A made-up festival rig with 3,000 fixtures, ready in a browser tab. Nothing to install, and your own files never leave your computer unless you save them to the cloud.
